Plugs and Jacks
A thermocouple jack, also known as a thermocouple receptacle, is a connector that is used to connect the extension wire to the measurement instrument. It is typically located on the instrument itself and has corresponding pins or sockets to connect with the plug on the extension wire.There are different types of plugs and jacks available for thermocouples such as, miniature plug, standard plug and panel mount jack. Miniature plugs are commonly used for thermocouples because they are small and easy to handle. Standard plugs are used for thermocouples that require a more robust connection. Panel mount jacks are used for thermocouples that require a more permanent connection.
